Custom Tied Flies
| As a pro tyer for Nymph Head Beads and a pro tyer & distributor for Clearcure Goo products I am delighted to now offer a custom fly tying service. At fly tying shows throughout the world people have been amazed when I have asked them to grind my Reversed Parachute flies underfoot while I continue the demonstration, after a few minutes I take the fly back and brush it with my fingers to reveal a perfectly fishable undamaged fly. That is my phylosophy on how these flies should be, almost indestructable, they should last for many many fish and that strength is built into the fly through years of design refinement. There are a lot of well tied flies commercially available these days but as yet I have not found one that will withstand that kind of punishment and that is the reason I am now offering these flies and many others to you tied by my own hand. In addition to my Reversed Parachutes you can now order any of the other flies featured on this site or call or e-mail to discuss any special orders, the flies will be tied to my own exacting standards and can be colour matched to the fly hatches in your area or fishing destination. Clearcure Goo Products
| Clearcure Goo is in my opinion the finest product range available on the market today to replace Epoxy in fly tying. I am delighted to be a member of their pro tyer team and am delighted to be able to offer you their products to buy here. Clear Cure Goo is a one part, water clear, light cured liquid that makes tying easy with a short learning curve for even a novice tier. The Goo is a tad thicker than most epoxies but flows nicely through most natural and synthetic materials. The Goo has a nice hang time…that translates into far less drip and sag than most standard epoxies. There is no mixing…just dispense from the syringe directly to the fly or use a dubbing needle to apply tiny amounts to the smallest of flies. No waiting for the epoxy to harden. No loss of product and most importantly from my point of view none of the health hazards many people experience when breathing in the fumes from epoxy products. Extremely fast setup time….stop the Goo in its tracks in 1.5 seconds. It will fully cure in just less than 7 seconds up to 3/16” of an inch. Clearcure Goo, once cured has a bit of stickiness left…this is for the purpose of secondary bonding. Some may not like this and on some materials like feathers, soft synthetics, it will stick to these a bit. It’s easy to fix. Just add one step in your tying and coat the CCG with a clear fingernail polish like Sally Hanson’s Hard as Nails after it is cured….set aside to dry and that’s it, finished. Some tyers prefer to avoid this step so a "Tack Free" version has been released, depending on customer feedback through time a tack free finish might be rolled out across the product range. | Clear Cure Goo Thick is perfect for creating baitheads on flies or whenever you need to build up material in larger amounts as it does not flow as fast as the Thin or Brushable. Which means you dont have to constantly battle a sag when you have a large amount of material out.
As always you can use all the Clear Cure Goo products in symphany to create the fly or look you desire. Meaning you could build a base layer using the Clear Cure Goo Thick and then finish it off with the Clear Cure Goo Brushable or Thin. £8.50 |
Clear Cure Goo Thin flows and smooths much faster than the Flexible or the Thick.
This produces a smoother finish but also penetrate materials like dubbing, and feathers much better, providing a stronger bond to such materials. Perfect for wing casings, nymphs, midges, shellbacks on Czech nymphs, Shrimps and such. £8.50 |

| How many times have you wished you had a way to stop material from fouling without resorting to a mono loop? Try brusing this material lightly on DNA Fibers, Krystal Flash, Angel Hair, Sparkle Hair or any other fouling material. Bush a small amount on just past the hook bend and you will find that the Clear Cure Goo Brushable will keep the fibers out and away from the hook, but also is still very pliable and crushable. £10.50 |
Clear Cure Goo Tack Free is just that Tack Free. There is no need to add a top coat, no covering it with sally hansens hard as nails or hard as hull. It has the same consistency as the Clear Cure Goo Thick. Which allows you to really control the material even when making material intensive flies like surf candies. This is the Clear Cure Goo Curing Light. It is a very low powered light, and is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). When using this light, your Clear Cure Goo Products should cure hard in 3-5 Seconds to the core of each fly when using the Thin, Thick, Tack Free or Brushable. The Flexible takes a little longer we recommend curing times of 10-12 seconds for the entire fly. £21.00 |
